Early Pregnancy Problems

Pregnancy is a long-term period that changes the physiology and psychology of the expectant mother. During this period, both physiological and pathological complaints disturb the expectant mother. Gynecology and Obstetrics Specialist Op. Dr. Alper Mumcu describes the most common problems:
Nausea & Vomiting

Some hormones (especially bhCG) secreted during pregnancy affect the nausea center in the mother and cause this complaint. It usually starts around the 6th week of pregnancy. Nausea is most often felt when you wake up in the morning. This is also called morning sickness. During the day, food smells, cigarette smell, perfume smell, which do not normally disturb, may cause severe nausea and vomiting. This condition is called Emesis gravidarum. The expectant mother cannot eat because of the disgust. In the case of emesis gravidarum, what needs to be done is to consume dry food often but gradually. Dry bread, rusks, crackers are suitable foods. In addition, avoiding nausea-stimulating factors as much as possible reduces complaints significantly. If the complaints do not decrease with this approach, anti-nausea drug therapies come to the agenda. The drugs that should be preferred here should be prepared especially for nausea and should be taken with the advice of a doctor. Group B vitamins are also useful. In cases where vomiting does not pass with medication, the expectant mother cannot get enough nutrition. In this case, the mother begins to consume her own resources and the amount of acid in the blood increases. The high rate of detection of these acids in urinalysis requires hospitalization. The deficiency of fluid due to vomiting and the deficit of some elements such as sodium, potassium should be treated. The mother candidate is given intravenous fluid, anti-nausea drugs and vitamin supplements. Within 2-3 days, the person will recover. This condition is called hyperemesis gravidarum. Pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting disappear around 16 weeks. In cases where hormones such as multiple pregnancy and mole pregnancy are secreted more than normal, the complaints are longer and more severe.

Frequent Urination

As pregnancy progresses, the growing uterus reduces the capacity of the bladder immediately in front of it. Therefore, a person often has a feeling of urination. This is a completely normal state. However, if there is burning during urination, it may be a symptom of an infection and must be examined.

Vaginal discharge and pruritus

Vaginal discharge may occur with the effect of increasing estrogen hormone during pregnancy. This discharge is colorless and odorless. If there is a bad smell and the discharge is yellow-green, an infection may occur. Furthermore, a suitable ground for fungal infections is prepared due to changes in the acidity and glycogen content of the vagina during pregnancy. Currents with white particles and itching are in favor of a fungal infection and must be treated. Fluctuations such as water, which is suddenly excessively high in the second half of pregnancy, may be premature opening of the membranes. In such a case, the physician should be contacted immediately.
Constipation

Some of the hormones secreted during pregnancy cause relaxation of all involuntary smooth smooth muscles. The natural consequence of this may be constipation. In the last period of pregnancy, the growing uterus to the last part of the large intestine pressure to be the cause of constipation. This can also cause hemorrhoids.

Combustion

The relaxation in smooth muscles that cause constipation likewise causes relaxation in the valve between the stomach and esophagus. As a result, the stomach content escapes into the esophagus. Stomach content is an acidic liquid. Although the stomach tissue is acid-resistant, it is not the esophagus and as a result this acid substance causes irritation. The person perceives this as burning in the stomach and along the esophagus. Especially in the supine situation, this situation is felt more discomfort in the case of acid neutralizing drugs may be necessary to prevent treatment with this condition. smoking, spicy foods, carbonated drinks, very sweet or sour foods will increase the secretion of the stomach will also affect the burning sensation negatively.

Pubic and Low Back Pain

Small power contractions seen in the uterus from the beginning of pregnancy to the end are perceived as inguinal pain by the expectant mother. There is not much to do in this case. Some mineral-containing medicines may be useful. If these pains are becoming more frequent and exacerbated and bleeding occurs, you should see your doctor immediately. As the pregnancy progresses, the body's center of gravity changes, spine curvature becomes more pronounced, and slight loosening of the joints due to hormones may cause low back pain. Orthopedic chair and bed use and cultural physical movements are useful in relieving pain.
Varices and cramps, swelling of the legs

Enlarging uterine veins from the legs by pressing the system can cause blood pooling and varices. Cramps in the legs may also occur due to circulatory disorders. Adequate consumption of milk and dairy products reduces the cramps caused by calcium deficiency, but does not affect cramps due to circulatory failure. In the treatment of these, it is beneficial not to stand too much, to relax by extending the legs whenever possible. Varicose veins can be used in cases where varicose veins become very prominent and crap do not pass by the above precautions. Similar mechanism may cause swelling of the legs as a result of disruption of circulation. Swelling in the face and hands may be a symptom of preeclampsia during pregnancy.
Weakness, fatigue, palpitations

In the early stages of pregnancy, there may be general weakness in the adaptation of the body. The continuation of this condition in the following periods and the feeling of palpitation in favor of anemia.
